Cherry Mobile’s very own chief executive officer – Maynard S. Ngu – puts another cherry on top of the company’s achievements in 2017, as he was awarded as one of the Top 19 finalists on the prestige Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines awards banquet held last October 2017 at the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.
In his interview aired on ANC Philippines for EOY specials, he has attributed the success of the company to the collective efforts of his team and the people who continuously put Cherry Mobile on top of the game. He also highlighted the importance of giving back the gratitude by helping the most underserved communities in the country.
“While the success of the brand is truly rewarding, it is the people whom Cherry Mobile has touched that rewarded me the most. They are the Filipinos whose lives were made easier because of the affordable and accessible technology. They are my employees who shares the same passion and vision with me. They are the indigenous people whom we have helped with our CSR causes.”
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year, organized by SGV, is an award-giving body in the business industry which recognizes top leaders and entrepreneurs of established and globally-competitive companies in the Philippines. MSN’s nomination on EOY proves the extent of the brand’s strength as a homegrown smartphone and team player in the local mobile tech arena, which is steadily competing head-on with global giants.
